Job summary

Synerfac is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer specializing in plumbing and fire protection for projects across industrial manufacturing, pharmaceutical, laboratory, healthcare, and commercial facilities in Wyomissing, PA. The ideal candidate holds an ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree, is EIT-certified, and has 4+ years of building systems experience with Revit and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering program.
• EIT certification required.
• 4+ years of building systems/MEP/FP consulting experience.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of IBC/IPC and NFPA 13/14.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial and industrial facilities.
• Perform engineering calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection.
• Design domestic water, sanitary waste, venting, storm drainage, and natural gas systems.
• Develop sprinkler, standpipe, fire pumps, and other fire protection systems.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and documentation.
• Utilize Revit and AutoCAD to support designs.
• Apply building, plumbing, fire protection, and NFPA codes.
• Conduct field surveys and evaluate existing facility systems.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, contractors, and project managers.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs; participate in client meetings.
