Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support design and construction of mechanical power plant equipment for mega-projects or advanced reactors. Hybrid work, 2-3 days on-site at Cranberry Township, PA.

Responsibilities include developing equipment design requirements, writing specifications, and collaborating with multi-discipline teams. Requires BS in Mechanical Engineering and familiarity with ASME/API standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Familiarity with MathCad, MATLAB, or VBA preferred.
• Understanding of technical design drawings and/or fabrication.
• Experience with ASME or API standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop pump, valve, heat exchanger, or other equipment design requirements for new plant build or modifications.
• Write specifications and develop designs for auxiliary mechanical equipment for use in a nuclear power plant.
• Identify problems and propose solutions to projects and tasks that are assigned.
• Support more senior engineering personnel in multiple design and analysis efforts.
• Make sound technical evaluations to support critical engineering decisions.
• Communicate nature and status of work performed to appropriate technical lead and management.
• Collaborate with construction, I&C, electrical, and operations project teams with internal and/or external representation.
• Participate in customer, vendor, and regulator meetings to present technical materials and justification of services and product designs.
• Perform work within established scope, budgetary and schedule requirements.
