Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in R&D or testing.
• Experience in developing and executing test plans and data analysis.
• Ability to apply mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer and materials science.
• Experience managing research and testing projects with schedules and risk mitigation.
• Experience with data acquisition, instrumentation, and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise to support ARFF research, testing, and operations.
• Plan and execute experiments including fire testing and thermal-fluid systems.
• Develop test plans, drawings, instrumentation layouts, and data acquisition.
• Conduct system analysis of mechanical, thermal, and fluid systems using engineering tools.
• Prepare reports and deliverables for FAA stakeholders.
