Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to prepare CAD-based mechanical and electrical drawings for oil and gas projects. The role operates on a hybrid schedule with both office and remote work components, under supervision and tight deadlines.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in CAD and strong communication skills, plus proficiency in AutoCAD and CADWorx. Travel to client sites may be required as part of field verification and design support.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in CAD preferred (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical acceptable).
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient with CAD software (AutoCAD/CADWorx).
• Willingness to travel for client meetings or site visits.

Responsibilities

• Provide general drafting CAD-based mechanical and electrical drawings for O&G projects.
• Work under general direction of discipline supervisor with deadlines and budgets in mind.
• Adhere to company and project drafting standards and schedules.
• Perform fieldwork: take measurements, locate tie-ins, document as-built conditions.
• Maintain effective communication with project team members.
• Support other drafters and team members to ensure timely design deliverables.
