Job summary

AlfaTech in San Jose, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to perform mechanical design, HVAC selections, and project support within a collaborative, sustainability-focused team. You will work under senior staff, using BIM tools to develop designs and contribute to cost estimates and technical reports.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering; PE Certification and LEED Accreditation are preferred.

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with multiple project deadlines.
General understanding of contract and construction documents.
Knowledge of codes, standards, and construction/engineering processes.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical design utilizing various engineering software.
Perform HVAC system selections and details designs.
Select and specify mechanical equipment and devices.
Review data and prepare recommendations, summaries, and cost estimates for consideration by senior engineers and/or managers.
Write technical reports to document engineering analysis and findings.
Assist senior engineer(s) in reviewing design and development plans and/or cost estimates.
Coordinate, support, and communicate with colleagues across disciplines.
