Job summary

Wisconsin History is seeking a Maydm Marketing & Communications Intern - Work Study to create and share compelling stories across newsletters, social media, and partner briefings. You will help craft content that highlights STEM equity and student successes, while building hands-on experience in a nonprofit setting.

The role blends writing, design, and digital marketing tasks, with a hybrid schedule and partial remote work. Start date is the upcoming fall term and you’ll contribute from week one.

Qualifications

• Strong writing and storytelling instincts
• Comfort with social media platforms and basic content creation/editing tools
• Reliable, organized, and able to hit a monthly content cadence
• A genuine interest in STEM equity and telling real stories about real students
• Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
• Basic photography and video capture, editing, and production skills
• Comfortable using analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Meta Insights
• Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp

Responsibilities

• Produce our monthly donor and community newsletters
• Pull program updates directly from staff
• Support quarterly partner impact briefings
• Shared role
• One Alumni story and one Young Professional in STEM story every month
• A monthly new-partner highlight — real recognition we’ve contractually promised our corporate partners
• Support for our year-end appeal and Giving Tuesday campaign
