Job summary

MSIG USA is seeking an Underwriting Assistant - Marine Underwriting to support the underwriting process for property coverages. The role involves collecting data, setting up accounts, rating, producing quotes and binders, and issuing policies and endorsements.

You will provide reports and analysis to underwriters, ensure data accuracy, and assist in reinsurance tasks. This hybrid role is based in NJ/NY with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years insurance or reinsurance company experience with emphasis on analytic functions in underwriting support, underwriting, and/or accounting.
• Working knowledge of rating and pricing models, insurance, and reinsurance for all lines of business.
• Understanding of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Collect and reconcile new and renewal submission information to prepare policy/account files for underwriter review with minimal direction.
• Review and analyze account information for underwriting data (exposures, loss information, driver information, financials, loss control reports).
• Input financial and statistical information into the appropriate system to provide timely and accurate quote, policy, endorsement processing.
• With minimal guidance from Underwriter produce quotes and binders for new and renewal accounts/policies.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure data accuracy and maximize the integrity of information.
