Job summary

Doncasters in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive productivity and lead the Groton to Mexicali content transfer. You will coordinate cross‑functional teams across plants, push automation, and deliver measurable improvements.

The role requires a hands‑on leader with strong problem‑solving, a bias for safety and quality, and the ability to coach others through 5S, Lean, TPM, and CI initiatives while managing CapEx planning and vendor engagement. Travel up to 75% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing plant environment with proven improvements.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%, including Mexicali, MX and Groton, CT.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency with CAD software for facility layout modeling and design.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems.
• Ability to serve as a change agent and lead diverse, cross‑functional teams.
• Lean/CI tools: Toyota Production System, Problem‑Solving, A3, 5S, VSM, Kanban, TPM, Heijunka, Hoshin Kanri.

Responsibilities

• Drive productivity and operational improvements across Groton and Mexicali.
• Lead cross‑functional and cross‑plant initiatives to improve productivity and automation.
• Prioritize safety and quality in all projects.
• Conduct data collection, time studies, process analysis, and root‑cause problem solving.
• Lead 5S, Lean, TPM initiatives; coach employees on continuous improvement.
• Partner with Operations and cross‑functional teams to identify opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
• Manage the plant transformation roadmap, including project planning, execution, and performance tracking.
• Lead vendor engagement and support the evaluation and implementation of new products, services, equipment, and technologies.
• Support the planning and execution of CapEx projects.
• Communicate improvement opportunities, priorities, actions, and results clearly and transparently.
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
