Pratt & Whitney, a world-leading aircraft engines designer and maker, offers an Accounting Specialist role based at our East Hartford, CT campus in a hybrid work environment.

The role supports accounting and financial reporting for Manufacturing Operations, handling close processes, analytics, and internal controls while collaborating with FP&A, Controllers, and IT teams. A strong background in ERP systems, SAP and OneStream, and 5+ years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s +3 years.
• Proficiency with MS Excel & MS PowerPoint.
• Strong ERP experience (SAP & OneStream preferred).
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to information.

Responsibilities

• Support subsidiary accounting and financial reporting.
• Manage significant components of monthly/quarterly close.
• Perform advanced analytics (margin analysis, absorption, cost trends, reserve/allowance modeling).
• Ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance for owned areas.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen controls.
• Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Collaborate with multiple finance and business teams to ensure upstream accounting compliance.
• Support SOX compliance and internal/external audits.
