Job summary

Group Management Services is hiring a Manager of Underwriting Operations in Richfield, OH. This leadership role will oversee the company and client actuarial and underwriting functions, driving pricing, reserves, and rate development for new clients and renewals.

You will mentor a team, model future projections, and coordinate with MHP vendors while contributing to strong business outcomes. Hybrid scheduling and robust benefits support success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Minimum 4 years of proven actuarial and/or underwriting analysis.
• 5+ years of people management/leadership skills.
• Experience working with a TPA preferred.
• Sound business acumen with awareness of revenue, margin, risk and trends.

Responsibilities

• Submitting accurate pricing for Master Health Plans (MHP) and actuarial data.
• Establishing adequate loss reserves (IBNR, catastrophic and deficiency).
• Monitoring clients with high claim costs and creating resolutions.
• Modeling future projections in claims and growth.
• Determining rate development for new clients and renewals.
• Developing actuarial models and generating reports for projections.
• Liaising between all MHP vendors.
• Overseeing all areas of the benefits quoting process.
