Job summary

Wakefern Food Corp. is seeking a seasoned finance leader to direct multiple accounting functions across its shared services operations.

You will oversee GAAP compliance, tax provisions, financial reporting, and treasury support, partnering with Finance Leadership and member companies to ensure accurate, timely results. The role requires 10+ years in accounting/finance, 5+ years of leadership, a CPA, and experience with Oracle Financials or SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. CPA or equivalent required.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Shared Services, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience supervising and developing professional staff.
• Ability to multi-task and meet constant stream of deadlines with accuracy & attention to detail.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently or as a team player.
• Excellent verbal, written communication and customer service skills.
• Additional experience with Oracle Financials & SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and financial operations for member business units.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Maintain adherence to GAAP, company policies, and internal control requirements.
• Support onboarding new members and integration of financial processes.
• Develop service level expectations and performance metrics.
• Drive standardization and continuous improvement across processes.
• Present financial information and recommendations to senior executives and members.
• Oversee sales and use, property & litter tax compliance activities and coordinate tax audits.
• Review tax deliverables prepared by third party accountants for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with company objectives.
• Monitor tax legislation changes and assess business impacts.
