Job summary

OCI Hospitality is seeking a dedicated Hotel Maintenance / Housekeeping Support role to perform preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and guest-request handling across rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. You will assist with room readiness, equipment upkeep, and collaborating with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Maintenance teams.

  • Previous hotel maintenance or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to guest requests, work orders, and maintenance issues promptly and professionally.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs across guest rooms and public areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all public spaces and back-of-house areas.
  • Assist with room inspections and guest room readiness.
  • Support housekeeping by delivering requests and transporting supplies.
  • Maintain pool, spa, and related equipment per standards and regulations.
  • Keep exterior areas clean and well-maintained (parking lots, landscaping, etc.).
  • Set up and move furniture for meetings and events as needed.
  • Ensure safety and organization of all maintenance stores and closets.
  • Operate tools safely and understand fire, life safety, HVAC, and elevator basics.
  • Assist with inventory control of maintenance and supplies.
  • Collaborate with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Maintenance to ensure smooth hotel operations.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responds to guest requests, reported work orders, and maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and basic repairs throughout guest rooms, public spaces, meeting areas, back-of-house areas, and hotel equipment.
  • Maintains cleanliness, appearance, and organization of all public areas, including the lobby, entrances, hallways, stairwells, elevators, restrooms, and exterior spaces.
  • Assists with room inspections and prepares guest rooms for arrival by addressing maintenance concerns, moving furniture, and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Supports housekeeping operations by delivering guest requests and amenities, transporting linens, removing trash, and assisting with room turnover as needed.
  • Assists with maintaining the pool and spa areas in accordance with company standards, brand requirements, and applicable state and local regulations.
  • Maintains the exterior appearance of the property, including parking lots, sidewalks, landscaping, snow removal, and litter pickup.
  • Sets up, moves, and stores furniture, equipment, and supplies for meetings, events, and operational needs.
  • Ensures all maintenance shops, storage rooms, equipment areas, and housekeeping closets remain clean, organized, secure, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Operates hand tools, power tools, cleaning equipment, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintains a basic working knowledge of fire and life safety systems, HVAC equipment, refrigeration systems, pool equipment, and elevator operations.
  • Assists with inventory control and the organization of maintenance, housekeeping, and operational supplies.
  • Provides exceptional guest service by interacting professionally with guests and addressing requests promptly.
  • Works collaboratively with Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure efficient hotel operations.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced hotel environment while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to perform work-related duties independently and exercise sound judgment when addressing guest service, housekeeping, and maintenance concerns.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, and vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize daily assignments.
  • Basic knowledge of general maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and preventative maintenance practices preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, cleaning equipment, and other job-related equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working both indoors and outdoors.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays, and emergency call-in situations as needed.
  • Previous hotel maintenance, houseman, public area attendant, janitorial, facilities, or related experience preferred.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification within a designated timeframe.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and guest-ready environment throughout all areas of the hotel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to support overall hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
