Job summary

Lutheran Family Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care in Fremont, NE. The role involves coordinating care, education, and integrated support under medical supervision.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active LPN license in Nebraska or obtain CMA credential within 6 months.
• At least two years of medical experience required.
• Knowledge of medications, side effects, and co-occurring conditions.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between patient and practitioner during medication management appointments.
• Assist with patient referrals as directed by the practitioner.
• Manage or request patient medication refills, records, and lab requests.
• Schedule and administer injections as directed by the practitioner.
• Take and document vital signs, lab results, etc.
• Collect blood and urine specimens as ordered.
• Maintain storage of medications and monthly counts.
• Communicate with pharmaceutical reps about enrollment and samples.
• Notify practitioners of patient-reported side effects.
• Document patient correspondence in the EHR system.
• Support LB 95-related medication programs at Lincoln location.
• Other duties as assigned.
