Job summary

Wellspring Lutheran Services in Michigan is seeking Parent Partners to support families navigating child welfare and related systems. The role relies on lived experience as a parent or caregiver, with opportunities to attend meetings, advocate for families, and connect them with local resources.

You will work from a home office with hybrid field visits, occasional evenings/weekends, and travel within the service area to meet families in their communities.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience as a parent or caregiver who was involved with CPS or foster care and completed their case with a positive outcome.
• Ability to build trust quickly, communicate effectively, and support families.
• Comfort leading virtual group meetings and navigating community resources.
• Experience with trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices is valued.

Responsibilities

• Walk beside families to navigate child welfare, behavioral health, and educational systems.
• Advocate for families, participate in meetings, and help set and achieve goals.
• Build connections to tools and resources that increase stability for children and caregivers.
• Maintain professional boundaries while providing peer support and guidance.
