Job summary

Wilson Elser invites applications for a Paralegal position in our Houston Office. The role supports fast-paced litigation teams with document review, discovery, and trial prep, with flexibility to work remotely up to 40% of the time.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree (paralegal certificate preferred) and 5+ years of experience in litigation/paralegal work, with strong organizational and communication skills. Insurance defense experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal certificate preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience as a litigation paralegal or insurance claims handler in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Insurance defense experience is a plus; experience with pretrial discovery, hearings, arbitration and trial preparations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct searches via Lexis and social media.
• Process and follow up on authorizations for receipt of records.
• Order records and maintain a production log.
• Review, analyze and organize document productions by opposing parties and co-defendants.
• Draft discovery requests and answers; draft stipulations, orders, motions to compel, motions for show cause.
• Redact and Bates stamp documents; prepare materials for expert witness review, mediation, and deposition.
• Trial preparation including exhibits, witness materials, and pre-trial filings.
