Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Litigation Associate to join a collaborative practice in Portland, Maine. You will take on meaningful responsibility from the outset, including direct client interaction, substantive motion practice, and exposure to all phases of litigation.

We value applicants with 2–6 years of experience, strong research and writing, and a JD with active Maine or New Hampshire bar. This is a hybrid, permanent role with a competitive six-figure range.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of litigation experience preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and memoranda.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation matters through all stages of case development and resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and memoranda.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy recommendations.
• Manage discovery, document review, and case organization.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial prep.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses.
• Collaborate across practice disciplines on complex matters.
• Maintain case deadlines and manage multiple active matters.
