Job summary

GFT is seeking a Linear (Pipeline) Design Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater team in Texas offices. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance in the office.

You will lead design of water distribution, wastewater collection, and pump/lift stations, coordinating with clients and other disciplines to deliver projects on time and within budget. Strong communication and technical writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental/mechanical/chemical engineering.
• 8-15 years of linear water pipeline design experience.
• Experience with design, permitting and construction of water/wastewater systems.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent technical writing skills.
• Experience reviewing project drawings, specs, schedules and cost estimates.
• MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage linear water/wastewater design projects from planning to construction.
• Prepare construction documents and specifications for W/WW systems.
• Develop design calculations and perform analyses with design software.
• Mentor junior staff and supervise drafting teams.
• Coordinate with clients and cross-discipline teams to meet budgets and schedules.
• Create cost estimates and project schedules; ensure tasks stay on budget and on time.
