Job summary

Buro Happold in New York is seeking a Lighting Designer to join our talented team. You’ll contribute to creative and technical artificial lighting and daylighting solutions across a range of inspiring projects, collaborating with architects, engineers and clients to deliver thoughtful design.

You will work with senior designers to develop concept through detailed design, create lighting layouts and visualizations, and support master-planning and daylight analysis while advancing your technical

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Design, Engineering, or related field.
Approximately 2+ years of professional lighting design experience.
Experience contributing to lighting design projects from concept through detailed design.
Strong interest in architectural lighting design and daylighting analysis.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with architects, engineers and clients to develop thoughtful lighting solutions.
Develop lighting layouts, sections, details, and visual materials using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
Produce concept visualizations and 3D lighting models to communicate design intent.
Support daylight analysis, environmental impact assessments, and sun/daylight studies.
Coordinate with internal teams to support project delivery.
