Job summary

TECHEAD is hiring a Library Systems Engineer in Washington, D.C. for a hybrid role that blends Ex Libris Alma LSP administration with hands-on Python workflow development.

The position supports an Agile environment and cross-functional government teams, driving cataloging, metadata management, and production pipelines. The ideal candidate possesses a CS/Info/DS/MLS background, 2+ years of Alma LSP experience, Python automation skills, and Scrum experience; U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/DS/MLS or related field.
• 2+ years administering Ex Libris Alma LSP or equivalent LMS.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass USDA background check.

Responsibilities

• Configure, secure, and maintain Alma LSP components, roles, permissions, normalization rules, and SSO; monitor jobs and resolve workflow disruptions across ingest, indexing, and preservation flows.
• Maintain and enhance Python-based pipelines supporting automated ingest, data transformation, indexing, cross-system synchronization, error handling, and secure credential management.
• Execute pre-change analyses, sandbox testing, freeze-window deployments, and rollback procedures under the CCB Charter; participate in incident response.
• Provide technical input during sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives; coordinate with librarians and project managers to align deployments.
• Maintain job-monitoring dashboards, release calendars, test disaster recovery procedures, and generate monthly status reports and metrics logs.
