Job summary

Amerisure is seeking a Claims – Liability Rotational Specialist to manage a mid-to-high complexity auto and general liability portfolio on a rotating basis across multiple jurisdictions. This role supports teams and participates in mediations and trials, with a hybrid schedule (2 days in the office).

The ideal candidate has 8 years of commercial claims experience, including litigated files, strong knowledge of tort and coverage laws, and the ability to lead discussions, present to non-technical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 8 years commercial claims experience including high complexity, high severity general and auto liability claims.
• 5 years handling litigated files and directing outside defense counsel experience.
• Extensive knowledge of tort, contract, and coverage laws in multiple jurisdictions.
• Ability to lead discussions, make presentations and deliver technical results to a non-technical audience.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 20%.
• Industry accreditation preferred.
• Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing.
• Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships across departments and with external customers.

Responsibilities

• Directly handle an assigned portfolio of mid-level to complex auto and general liability claims in multiple jurisdictions on a rotating basis through pro-active investigation, coverage determinations, liability and damages evaluations, and litigation management.
• Provide support to multiple teams to manage claim portfolios on a temporary basis.
• Develop, negotiate, and coordinate the execution of resolution strategies to mitigate allocated loss adjustment expenses and costs.
• Establish and maintain proper reserves for each claim to reflect financial exposure.
• Report on and present large losses during internal file conferences and roundtables.
• Develop and execute risk transfer strategies and negotiate cost share agreements.
• Adjudicate claims in accordance with Amerisure guidelines and quality standards.
• Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.
• Stay current with multijurisdictional legal developments and trends.
• Assist in file auditing and portfolio closing initiatives to help achieve department goals.
