Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 8 years of commercial claims experience including high complexity cases.
• 5 years handling litigated files and directing outside defense counsel.
• Extensive knowledge of tort, contract, and coverage laws in multiple jurisdictions.
• Ability to lead discussions, present results, and adapt to change.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Directly handle an assigned portfolio of mid-level to complex auto and general liability claims in multiple jurisdictions on a rotating basis.
• Provide support to multiple teams to manage claim portfolios on a temporary basis.
• Develop and coordinate resolution strategies to mitigate expenses and costs for policyholders.
• Establish and maintain reserves reflecting financial exposure.
• Report large losses during internal conferences and roundtables.
• Attend mediations, settlements, and trials.
• Serve as subject matter expert to less experienced staff during rotations.
