Job summary

Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company seeks a Claims – Liability Rotational Specialist to manage a rotating portfolio of mid-level to complex auto and general liability claims across jurisdictions. The role supports teams, develops strategies, and maintains reserves while advancing agency and policyholder partnerships.

This hybrid role requires deep knowledge of tort and coverage laws, plus leadership in presenting technical results to non-technical stakeholders. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 8 years commercial claims experience including high complexity, high severity general and auto liability claims.
• 5 years handling litigated files and directing outside defense counsel experience.
• Extensive knowledge of tort, contract, and coverage laws in multiple jurisdictions.
• Ability to lead discussions and present to a non-technical audience.
• Excellent organizational skills in a changing environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% overnight.
• Industry accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly handle an assigned portfolio of auto and general liability claims across jurisdictions.
• Support multiple teams to manage claim portfolios on a temporary basis.
• Develop and coordinate resolution strategies to mitigate costs in policyholder and agency interests.
• Establish and maintain reserves reflecting financial exposure.
• Report large losses during internal reviews and roundtables.
• Develop risk transfer strategies and negotiate cost-sharing agreements.
• Adjudicate claims per Amerisure guidelines and quality standards.
• Serve as SME to less experienced staff during rotations.
• Attend mediations, settlements, and trials.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of multijurisdictional legal developments.
