Job summary

Selective Insurance seeks a Legal Operations Supervisor for a hybrid PA/NJ staff counsel role. You will oversee daily operations of a Staff Counsel law office, supervise legal assistants and paralegals, and coordinate with internal departments to ensure compliance with legal standards.

You will develop staff, optimize workflows, manage budgets, and ensure timely court filings while supporting leadership and cross-functional teams. This position requires extensive legal operations experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State and Federal court rules, procedures and filing requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel is required. Experience with legal case management software is required.
• Excellent customer service, written, and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise administrative staff, including performance evaluations, workflow optimization, training needs and assessment.
• Review workflows to ensure alignment with legal and technological changes, suggesting and implementing changes as needed.
• Ensure compliance with court filing rules and deadlines.
• Oversee office systems and liaise with IT, legal databases and accounts payable.
• Plan and coordinate office events and settlement days with Claims Managers and Adjusters.
• Participate in hiring and onboarding of legal staff; conduct interviews and training.
• Ensure smooth daily operations of the law office and maintain a professional work environment.
• Maintain office forms and compliance with Federal and State Court Rules.
