O’Hagan Meyer seeks a detail-oriented Legal Billing Appeals Specialist to manage the firm’s insurance carrier invoice appeal process. You will review denials, prepare appeals, and monitor deadlines to maximize revenue recovery.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and familiarity with electronic billing systems, with a hybrid schedule in the initial 90 days and transition to at least three days in-office per week thereafter.

Formación

• Two years of experience in law firm billing, electronic billing, or billing appeals.
• Experience with insurance carrier billing guidelines and deadlines.
• Familiarity with outside counsel billing guidelines and carrier reduction codes.
• Experience with electronic billing platforms such as CounselLink, Legal Tracker, Collaborati, eBillingHub, BillBlast, or similar.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong written communication for clear appeal narratives.
• Excellent organizational and deadline-management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities focused on revenue recovery.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and staff.
• Experience with legal accounting systems is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Review insurance carrier invoice reductions and denials for appealability.
• Prepare persuasive appeal narratives and supporting documentation.
• Submit appeals via electronic billing platforms within deadlines.
• Monitor appeal deadlines and provide status updates to attorneys.
• Maintain logs and track outcomes and recovered amounts.
• Collaborate with attorneys and billing staff to resolve issues.
• Identify trends and suggest process improvements.
• Apply billing guidelines and carrier-specific requirements.
• Prepare reports and monitor activity and recovery rates.
• Respond to inquiries regarding status and procedures.
