Job summary

UNC -Chapel Hill is seeking a Leave Administration Consultant to administer employee leave, disability programs, and return-to-work scenarios across the university. You will manage a caseload involving FMLA, disability benefits, Workers’ Compensation, and other leave programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and university policies.

Qualifications

• Experience administering employee leave, benefits, disability, workers' compensation, or related HR programs.
• Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, USERRA, and related leave/ disability programs.
• Ability to interpret laws, regulations, policies, and program requirements while maintaining confidentiality.
• Experience reviewing documentation to determine eligibility and ensure compliance.
• Strong case management skills for high-volume workloads with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Administer employee leave, disability benefits, and return-to-work programs across the university.
• Provide consultative services to employees, supervisors, HR partners, and leadership.
• Serve as primary point of contact for leave-related matters and ensure timely notices and documentation.
• Develop and deliver training resources to promote understanding of leave and benefits policies.
• Collaborate with Payroll, Compliance, and legal teams to improve processes and program effectiveness.
