Job summary

Brown University’s Sheridan Center seeks a Learning Designer to design and develop high quality online learning experiences in collaboration with faculty. This hybrid-eligible role focuses on inclusively designed online courses for new online graduate programs, joining a team committed to educational excellence and access.

The role involves supporting faculty with digital pedagogy, documenting outcomes, piloting new strategies, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver courses on

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in learning sciences, education, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 3–5 years of instructional design and/or online course design in higher education.
• At least 1 year supporting faculty with designing fully-online asynchronous programs or multi-modal programs.
• Postsecondary teaching/training experience.
• Experience applying adult learning theory and learning design methodologies.
• Experience applying project management methodology to instructional projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-1 consultation to assigned faculty on instructional technologies and learning principles throughout design-implementation cycles.
• Plan and manage instructional design projects: online course development and related initiatives.
• Facilitate development/review of educational media assets and usability testing.
• Collaborate with design, media, and technology professionals to ensure on-time course delivery.
