Job summary

Brown University invites applications for the Learning Technologist of Online Programs. This hybrid-eligible role supports the Sheridan Center in designing high-quality online learning experiences by evaluating learning technologies, supporting learning designers, and ensuring accessibility.

The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty and campus partners to enhance course content and promote inclusive, effective online learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in educational technology, learning sciences, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 1-2 years experience providing academic support as an instructional technologist or equivalent.
• Strong technical background with experience utilizing learning management systems
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA standards and accessibility best practices
• Ability to support a diverse community in an inclusive environment
• Proven capability to safely vet, install, test, and maintain LTI integrations in Canvas LMS
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
• Project management and timeline awareness
• Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset

Responsibilities

• Identify and integrate educational technology innovations into online courses.
• Consult with instructional staff on technology needs and LTIs.
• Develop, build and improve course sites and templates for course launches.
• Ensure accessibility per WCAG/508 standards in online learning.
• Research and recommend course tools for pedagogy use cases.
• Review courses for quality, usability, and accessibility.
• Troubleshoot enterprise technology for faculty
