Job summary

Lifespan of Greater Rochester, Inc. in New York seeks a dedicated ombudsman program operations professional to support residents across Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates Counties.

You will recruit, train, and evaluate volunteers, ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, and advocate for residents' rights while coordinating program activities under the Program Manager.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized with ability to multi-task.
• Maintains composure under deadlines and pressure.
• Able to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Reliable transportation and regional travel within the area.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Independently provides ombudsman advocacy to residents across multiple sites and counties.
• Recruits, trains, and evaluates volunteers; ensures compliance with certification and documentation requirements.
• Acts as first-line supervisor for day-to-day volunteer performance issues.
• Ensures program compliance with federal, state, and contract requirements; prepares for audits and corrective actions.
• Represents the program to facilities, partners, and state agencies; maintains relationships for credibility.
• Develops training, systems, and processes; identifies workflow gaps and implements improvements.
