Job summary

ProAg, a leader in crop insurance, seeks a Lead Software Engineer for our Maple Grove, MN office. You will guide a scrum team, size projects, and partner with DevOps to release features in an Agile setting.

We expect hands-on leadership with strong communication, design, and development skills across .NET, C#, JavaScript, React, and data/microservice architectures. This hybrid role blends office collaboration with remote Fridays.

Qualifications

• 6 years significant, relevant, and progressive professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in leadership, including strategic planning and setting technical direction.
• Experience in .NET (framework and core), C#, JavaScript, React, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Microservice/Event-Driven Architecture.
• Demonstrated design and development experience.
• Experience with software modeling, data modeling, performance tuning, and application monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level of Effort estimates (sizings), document risks and assumptions, and complete prototypes if needed.
• Design your scrum team’s technical solutions.
• Work with the DevOps team to release your team’s products.
• Enforce industry standards and best practices for your team.
• Collaborate with Solutions Architecture team.
