Job summary

Type One Energy in Knoxville, TN seeks a Lead Laboratory Technical Associate to assemble equipment, sub-systems, and data acquisition for a fusion fuel cycle lab. You will plan experiments, mentor staff in operating UHV and cryogenic systems, and present results to engineers and scientists.

The role requires 10+ years in a development lab with UHV experience, knowledge of SDS, and hands-on mechanical/electrical assembly. Includes a hybrid work policy and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a development laboratory using UHV systems and instruments.
• Solid understanding of the globally harmonized system of classification and labeling of chemicals (GHS).
• Experience with SDS and applying them to experimental planning, safety measures, and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Assemble equipment, sub-systems, instruments and data acquisition for a fusion fuel cycle development lab using UHV best practices.
• Plan, write procedures, and perform experiments.
• Mentor and train laboratory personnel in operating UHV and cryogenic systems safely.
• Manage laboratory equipment and consumables.
• Present experimental results to engineers and scientists.
