Job summary

Eaton ES AMER PCS in Moon Township, PA is seeking a Lead Firmware Engineer to design and develop embedded software for electronic trip units used in circuit breakers. This hybrid role offers collaboration with a global team from concept through production.

You will lead firmware architecture, drive RTOS and bare-metal implementations in C/C++, mentor teammates, and coordinate tasks while addressing hardware–software integration challenges. Relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
3+ years leading firmware development in embedded products.
7+ years hands-on embedded firmware/software with C/C++ in RTOS and bare-metal.
Experience with peripherals (ADC, PWM, UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO) and debugging HW-SW issues.
Ability to mentor peers and contribute to design reviews.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, integration, and testing of embedded firmware for microcontroller products.
Contribute to firmware architecture and drive project execution plans.
Review work, participate in design/code/quality reviews, and provide feedback.
Mentor engineers in firmware design, debugging, and testing activities.
Develop reusable firmware components using C/C++, RTOS, and protocols.
Investigate root causes to resolve product and field issues.
Collaborate across hardware, systems, quality, cybersecurity, and manufacturing teams.
Support verification, validation, and system-level testing; develop test tools.
