Job summary

Fenwick & West is seeking a Knowledge Management & Innovation (KMI) Manager to drive the firm’s adoption of AI tools and workflows in direct partnership with attorneys. You will translate legal workflows into scalable, firmwide AI solutions and help govern use, training, and communications.

You will partner with attorneys, paralegals, and other tech teams to implement AI across matters, maintain platform fluency, and design repeatable, risk-aware practices for AI-enabled work.

Qualifications

• Law firm background as an attorney, paralegal, or legal operations professional.
• Proven track record translating real legal workflows into AI-enabled solutions.
• Genuine technical depth with AI platforms and problem-solving with teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to build trust with partners.
• Creative and resourceful, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
• Strong project management to handle multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication that drives adoption.
• Sound legal judgment on AI risks and benefits; escalate appropriately.
• 5+ years of experience in a law firm or legal tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with attorneys to implement AI solutions for matters and scale firmwide rollout.
• Develop deep expertise in core AI platforms and manage configuration with risk awareness.
• Support governance for AI tools, identifying legal and professional-responsibility risks and escalation.
• Design and lead ongoing training and communications for legal AI tools and resources.
