Job summary

raSmith, a growing multi-disciplinary civil and structural engineering and land surveying firm, invites you to join our Survey Services division as a Land Survey CAD Technician in Wisconsin. This role supports project drafting and documentation across several states.

You will review project files, analyze field notes and prepare ALTA/NSPS surveys, plats, and maps, while applying AutoCAD, Civil3D and MS Office to deliver precise surveying exhibits and layouts.

Qualifications

• An Associate’s Degree or a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. accredited school.
• 0–3+ years of experience in surveying.
• Knowledge of surveying methods, practices and techniques as well as the legal aspects of surveying are required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D and Microsoft Office products is also expected.
• Applicable U.S. based work experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing assigned project files for necessary materials and information to carry out project scope and drafting tasks.
• Providing thorough analysis of field notes, legal descriptions, title easements, design plans, utility plans and construction layout notes.
• Preparing survey documents including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey, Plat of Survey, Certified Survey Maps, topographic maps, Transportation Plats, Condominium Plats, Subdivision Plats, legal descriptions and other survey exhibits.
• Developing an understanding of surveying concepts, our company business and how surveying is integrated into plans and projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
