Job summary

Adams County CAFS seeks a Kinship Foster Care Certification and Support Caseworker to provide intensive case management for kinship and foster providers, conduct home safety assessments, and support orientation, recruitment, and training.

The role requires familiarity with kinship policy, Volume 7 regs, and ongoing home study updates, with SAFE training required post-hire. Hybrid work options available in Adams County, CO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree related to child welfare social casework.
• Colorado Child Welfare Caseworker certification required within three months of hire.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of automotive insurance are required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the assigned caseworker to identify and secure foster or kinship care homes for children needing temporary care.
• Support kinship and foster care families to return the child home, reduce the level of care, or identify a more stable home.
• Provide ongoing training and behavioral coaching to Foster/Kinship providers.
• Manage caseload of foster care and kinship families (certified and non-certified).
• Embed at Adams County CAFS offices.
• Work with the child(ren)’s caseworker to identify supports needed for family’s needs.
• Ensure certification requirements are met and home study updates completed annually.
• Maintain knowledge of all rules for foster care and Volume 7 regulations.
• Engage in monthly home visits to build rapport and stabilize placements.
• Respond to calls within 24 hours and document contacts in TRAILS monthly.
• Assist providers with referrals including CCAP for childcare.
• Lead family engagement and support activities for kinship/foster providers.
• Perform other related duties as required.
