Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team. This role focuses on scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and project performance, working with project managers and teams to keep projects on track.

The ideal candidate will gather progress information, update data, and monitor cost/resource forecasts while supporting basic cost controls. Occasional travel may be required; the position offers a hybrid work model and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Good teamwork and collaboration skills in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with varying levels of staff and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Supports compliance with internal procedures and gathers project progress information to update and monitor projects of basic complexity.
• Under direct supervision, develops, maintains, and analyzes integrated critical path schedules for portions of routine projects.
• Generates and analyzes earned value reports for basic projects and discusses observations with supervisor and project manager.
• Uses appropriate document management protocols to store and retrieve project documentation.
