Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team. This role supports planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and project performance, partnering with project managers to ensure schedules and budgets stay on track.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and basic knowledge of project management, Primavera P6, EcoSys, and MS Office. Domestic/international travel up to 10% may be required; a hybrid work model is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent direct experience.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of project management methodologies and finance concepts.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 scheduling tool.
• Experience with EcoSys or similar project controls software.

Responsibilities

• Gathers project progress information from project managers and teams to monitor schedule and budget.
• Develops time-phased cost and resource forecasts; validates project costs and updates requirements.
• Performs earned value management and basic financial analyses.
• Generates and analyzes progress reports and communicates risks and trends to leadership.
• Assists with document management and change control processes.
