Job summary

Priceline is hiring a software engineer in Norwalk, CT for a hybrid role with two days in-office. You will contribute to core backend services and REST APIs powering travel searches used by millions of queries daily.

You’ll work in a cross-functional agile team, applying Core Java, SQL, Spring, and Node.js. Experience with microservices, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud (GCP/AWS) is highly valued. Salary ranges from $130,000 to $160,000 USD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering and development experience.
• Proficiency in Core Java and SQL.
• Experience with Spring Frameworks, Web Services and APIs.
• Server-side JavaScript with Node.js and Git/Gitflow.
• Experience with Microservices, Kubernetes and Docker.
• Cloud development experience (GCP/AWS).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to critical projects impacting Priceline’s roadmap and business growth.
• Work within a cross-functional agile team to iterate and deliver product objectives.
• Showcase development skills in Core Java and related tech.
• Build low-latency, high-throughput transactional services with CI and automated testing.
• Develop SQL queries for real-time investigations and analytics.
• Understand codebase, systems, and business requirements to implement changes.
• Collaborate effectively with teammates, communicate ideas, and compromise when needed.
