Job summary

Schwab is seeking a hands-on Full Stack Java/Angular Engineer to support the Advisor Portfolio Connect platform. This is an individual contributor role where engineers own features end to end—from technical design through development, testing, and production support.

You will work closely with product owners and engineering peers in an Agile environment to deliver scalable, high‑quality solutions that directly impact clients and advisors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Over three years of professional experience in developing scalable software with Java and Angular.
• Hands-on Full Stack Engineer with end-to-end ownership of features.
• Strong experience in Java and Angular development.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful and SOAP services via Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and SOLID principles.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests with mocking frameworks.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Ability to operate as an individual contributor with accountability for quality and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Java-based backend services and Angular components.
• Own features end to end, translating business requirements into technical designs and working code.
• Build and consume RESTful and SOAP-based APIs using Spring Boot.
• Apply SOLID principles, data structures, and algorithms in daily development.
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code with automated tests.
• Collaborate with product owners, business partners, and engineers to clarify requirements.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including stand-ups, planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Review and contribute to pull requests, upholding engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide production support while improving performance and reliability.
• Leverage GitHub and Copilot to enhance development efficiency while maintaining ownership.
