Job summary

ZealHire Inc. in New York, NY seeks a Contract IT SOX Analyst to oversee testing of IT general controls (ITGCs) and support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

The role coordinates with internal and external auditors, reviews control designs, and drives remediation. Hybrid schedule; visa USC/GC welcome; locals only.

Candidates should have 5+ years in public accounting or corporate SOX, with banking/financial services exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related discipline.
• Recent hands-on SOX experience.
• 5+ years in public accounting, Big Four, corporate SOX compliance, or a combination, incl. at least 3 years in technology.
• Experience supporting SOX compliance and IT general controls (ITGC).
• Deep understanding of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and related frameworks (COSO, NIST, COBIT, SOC, DCAM, SEC guidance).
• Ability to build relationships and influence teams to complete work on time.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate successful SOX testing execution with internal and external auditors.
• Review IT general control design for effectiveness and remediation.
• Review auditor requests and assign to control owners.
• Review and validate evidence submissions before providing to auditors.
• Analyze audit requests with control owners to clarify technical requirements.
• Work with internal audit to execute SOX testing procedures.
• Identify weaknesses, exceptions, and deficiencies in change, operations, and access controls.
• Align technology control owners, technology teams, and business teams to improve SOX examination efficiency.
• Develop a comprehensive risk assessment on IT SOX controls and financial statement integrity.
• Maintain and enhance SOX control documentation to reflect current environment.
