Job summary

Talcott Financial Group in Hartford, CT seeks an IT Software Engineering Intern to support our Information Technology department. You will gain hands-on experience in Python, SQL, Azure, and MS Fabric while collaborating with software engineers to analyze data, develop code, and support projects within Talcott’s Business Applications portfolio.

This ten-week summer internship follows a hybrid onsite schedule (Tue–Thu) on our Hartford campus, with enrichment activities and leadership interaction

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Solid technical proficiency with an eagerness to learn new technologies such as Python, SQL, React, MS Fabric, Power BI or other coding tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data/requirements and translate into technical specifications.
• Analyze, design, and possibly develop software programs aligned to the portfolio.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with software engineers, business users, project managers, and others to bring the planned outcome to closure.
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
