You will gain hands-on experience in Python, SQL, Azure, and MS Fabric while collaborating with software engineers to analyze data, develop code, and support projects within Talcott’s Business Applications portfolio.

This ten-week summer internship follows a hybrid onsite schedule (Tue–Thu) on our Hartford campus, with enrichment activities and leadership interaction

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Solid technical proficiency with an eagerness to learn new technologies such as Python, SQL, React, MS Fabric, Power BI or other coding tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data/requirements and translate into technical specifications.
  • Analyze, design, and possibly develop software programs aligned to the portfolio.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with software engineers, business users, project managers, and others to bring the planned outcome to closure.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.

Overview

Talcott’s Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to deeply immerse themselves in real-life business challenges! As part of this ten-week fast-paced summer program, students work side by side with our industry professionals. Our internship opportunity shall be a weekly hybrid onsite work arrangement in our contemporary Hartford, Connecticut campus on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Throughout this experience, students will dive into business assignments that shall expand their technical expertise, business knowledge and leadership skills. In addition to hands‑on learning, Talcott’s internship program offers an extensive calendar of enrichment activities to support a student’s personal growth! We sponsor frequent social events where our interns can directly interact with members of our leadership team among many other disciplines.

Talcott is seeking an IT intern to support our Information Technology department as a Software Engineering Intern. The ideal candidate will get hands‑on experience in Python, SQL, Azure, and MS Fabric technologies to develop software solutions. The selected individual will work with our Software Engineers to analyze data, provide project support, and/or potentially develop code for Talcott’s Business Applications portfolio.

  • Professional and positive attitude
  • Team oriented with the ability to work well independently
  • Previous internship experience is preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated drive for continuous learning and growth
  • Strong work ethic and the willingness to “do what it takes” to meet business deliverables
  • Desire to continually improve processes while delivering timely and accurate results
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while effectively managing conflicting priorities
Compensation

This range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is just one component of Talcott’s total annual compensation for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, long-term incentives and recognition.
