Job summary

Ultimate Staffing is seeking an IT and Security Engineer in Salt Lake City for a full-time, direct-hire, hybrid role. You will own the full IT/security stack across Linux, Windows, and macOS, including asset lifecycle, VPNs, backups, and incident response.

You will implement security controls, manage vulnerability remediation, and run phishing simulations while coordinating with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Legal, People Operations, and Finance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT system administration and/or security engineering across Windows, Linux, and macOS.
• Working knowledge of ISO 27001 and NIST CSF 2.0 frameworks and their practical application.
• Hands-on experience with Okta, Google Workspace, and Jira/Atlassian.
• Hands-on GCP experience, including IAM, Security Command Center, and audit logging.
• Experience with Cloudflare WAF, Zero Trust Access, DNS, and API protection.
• Experience managing vulnerability disclosure programs (HackerOne).
• Hands-on with Wazuh or comparable HIDS/SIEM.
• Experience with HashiCorp Vault for secrets management.
• Experience operating a SIEM (Splunk) including alerting and incident reporting.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes RBAC and workload hardening.
• Vulnerability management lifecycle experience.
• MDM experience with Jamf or equivalent.
• Experience owning IT asset management and onboarding/offboarding processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of IT hardware and software across Linux, Windows, and macOS; own VPNs, backups, DR, MDM, and endpoint security.
• Drive security posture aligned with ISO 27001 and NIST CSF 2.0; oversee vulnerability management and phishing simulations.
• Administer Wazuh HIDS/SIEM and HashiCorp Vault; run security training and awareness programs.
• Own GCP IAM and Security Command Center; manage Cloudflare Access and Kubernetes security reviews.
• Administer Okta for SSO/MFA; enforce least privilege and support ISO/NIST audit activities.
• Oversee IT asset inventory end to end; provisioning for onboarding and prompt revocation for offboarding.
• Manage SaaS procurement and renewals; configure core tools securely (Google Workspace, Atlassian).
• Lead IT and security projects from scoping to delivery; maintain SLAs and runbooks.
