Job summary

The Washington State Department of Labor & Industries is seeking an IT Business Analyst (Journey) to define systems scope and objectives across IT projects. You will act as a bridge between clients, stakeholders, the solution team, and internal/external customers, participating in all lifecycle phases from change analysis to deployment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in business systems analysis or closely related IT function.
• Education may substitute year-for-year for experience up to four years for a bachelor’s degree and up to two years for an associate’s degree.
• A relevant IT certification or Business Analysis Certification (CBAP/CCBA) can substitute for one year of education or experience.
• Closely related IT function includes application development, consulting, performing complex data analysis, IT project management, and writing complex reporting queries.

Responsibilities

• Enterprise strategy analysis: define goals, assess risks, and plan changes.
• Business analysis planning and monitoring: plan activities, approach, and stakeholder communication.
• Requirements elicitation and collaboration: prepare elicitation, conduct activities, document results.
• Requirements life cycle management: trace, prioritize, assess, and approve requirements.
• Requirements analysis and design: specify, model, verify, and define architecture.
• Solution evaluation: measure performance and identify actions to increase value.
• Solution testing, training and transfer: test development and organizational change management.
• Project coordination: plan, resource, scope, and manage IT deliverables.
