AmLaw 50 Firm in New York seeks a Patent Agent with strong technical background to join its Intellectual Property - Patents Practice. Hybrid work available. Candidates should have a science/engineering degree and 2+ years of patent prep and prosecution experience, with exposure to data science, ML, or AI considered a plus.

The role offers drafting, prosecution, and strategic counseling opportunities, with mentorship and global collaboration across leading attorneys and technology experts.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Physics with excellent academic record.
• 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience or familiarity with data science, machine learning, AI, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, IoT, optics or related fields is highly advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing technologies.
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO.
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management.
