Job summary

Seattle University is seeking a dedicated Student Immigration System & Student Advising professional. The role focuses on advising international students on personal, financial, academic and intercultural matters, while managing the SEVIS system in coordination with USDHS.

You will coordinate workshops, ensure compliance with government regulations, and collaborate with academic advisors and admissions offices to support visa processes for incoming students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, sociology, psychology, liberal arts, or related field with four years’ relevant experience.
• Experience working with international student populations, including study abroad or U.S. environments.
• Strong written and spoken English; ability to interact with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Advise international students on personal, financial, academic, intercultural, and social concerns.
• Maintain SEVIS database in collaboration with USDHS and serve as a Designated School Official (DSO).
• Coordinate workshops on immigration, orientations, CPT/OPT, and career planning.
• Stay current with immigration policies to support Seattle University’s international students.
• Collaborate with campus colleagues to enhance services and provide staff training.
