Job summary

The Department of Central Management Services (CMS) is seeking to hire an Internal Auditor in the Bureau of Internal Audit. This position will complete audits for the State of Illinois.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with coursework in auditing, business management, public administration, economics, computer science, accounting, or related subjects.
• Prefers extensive knowledge of auditing theory and applicable state laws, rules, regulations, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Meets Continuing Professional Education requirements through formal and in‑house training.
• Performs preliminary review prior to audit fieldwork.
• Prepares electronic work papers and audit reports for supervisory review.
• Represents Internal Audit in meetings.
• Performs other duties as required within scope of Internal Audit duties.
