Job summary

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking an Audit Manager to lead a team of audit professionals in planning, executing, and reporting diverse assurance engagements. You will help shape the internal audit strategy with risk assessments and annual planning while ensuring compliance with standards and Metropolitan requirements.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing budgets, and delivering findings with actionable recommendations to management and the Board.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years in audit or related field, 4+ in a leadership role.
• Advanced degree with 6+ years in audit or related field, 4+ in a leadership role.
• Progressive experience in audits, controls, and risk communication to executives.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop staff; assign and monitor work; coach and evaluate performance.
• Lead operational, financial, IT, audit, advisory engagements and follow-up reviews.
• Develop engagement objectives, risk assessments, and work programs.
• Manage resources, timelines, budgets, and client relationships.
• Assess governance risks and evidence fraud risk; ensure professional standards.
