Job summary

The State of Alaska is seeking an Audit and Review Analyst 2 (Internal Auditor) in Juneau for a full-time role. You will perform state retirement system compliance audits, manage budgeting/tracking/reporting, and educate employers on applicable statutes and regulations.

The position offers hybrid remote work options and requires occasional travel to on-site audits, with residency restrictions for Alaska residents. The role supports ARMB and retirement benefits programs.

Qualifications

• Principles of Accounting: knowledge of GAAP, double-entry, accruals; ledgers, journals.
• Auditing: GAAS principles and procedures for financial, compliance, economy/efficiency, and program audits.
• Analysis and Assessment: uses IT for data access, collection, analysis, and dissemination of information.
• Compliance: assess, evaluate, monitor programs for compliance with laws and guidance.
• Audit Reporting: report audit findings with criteria, condition, cause, effect, and recommendation.

Responsibilities

• Perform state retirement system compliance audits of participating employers.
• Budget, track, and report on audits.
• Educate employers regarding Alaska statutes, regulations, and requirements.
• Provide quarterly and ad hoc reports to ARMB Audit committee.
• Oversee SSA-1945 acceptance and recording process.
• Occasional travel for on-site compliance audits.
