Job summary

Ascendion is partnering with a regional insurance defense law firm to hire an Associate Attorney with 2+ years of experience, a valid Massachusetts law license, and a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. The role is hybrid and requires experience in medmal or related areas.

The successful candidate will manage a caseload, perform legal research, draft pleadings, and handle discovery and depositions, with a salary in the 150k-180k range plus full benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in insurance defense or related areas.
• Previous experience in medmal, products liability, premises liability, etc.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense cases, from initial claim evaluation to final resolution.
• Conduct thorough legal and factual research, and develop effective defense strategies for clients.
• Draft various legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and briefs to support defense strategies.
• Handle written discovery, take and defend depositions, and prepare witnesses for these proceedings.
