Job summary

IES is seeking an Instructional Designer to join our Training team in Tempe, AZ, in a hybrid role. You will develop engaging learning experiences for employees across the organization, blending creativity, instructional design, and technology to transform information into practical training.

Reporting to the Training Manager, you will work with leaders and SMEs to deliver content, manage the LMS, and continuously improve learning resources.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design principles.
• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Understanding of visual design and effective learning experiences.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Clear communication of technical info to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design engaging courses, curricula, and learning experiences.
• Create, edit, and enhance online learning materials.
• Design learning activities, assignments, assessments, and supporting resources.
• Develop CBT modules and storyboards.
• Create instructor manuals, rubrics, and training tools.
• Collaborate with SMEs to transform complex info into course content.
• Manage and support online learning communities and the LMS.
• Review, update, and improve existing content.
• Train instructors on learning technologies and tools.
• Facilitate discussion and collaboration via digital channels.
• Stay current on instructional design trends and best practices.
• Assist with scripts for video/audio content.
• Troubleshoot learning tech issues with technical teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
